Ali Baba Restaurant Announces New Ownership

The Hishmeh family has passed along the established legacy of Ali Baba Restaurant, to Mike, Dźeneta and Juste Rothenback. Ali Baba Restaurant is well known in the Morgantown community, for quality Mediterranean cuisine and the experience of genuine hospitality. The Rothenback’s are dedicated to maintaining the exact same caliber of quality food and service that has been offered to customers for the past 33 years.

"Because we value and care for our customers, we would not just sell to anyone”, stated Elias Hishmeh, founder and previous owner of Ali Baba Restaurant. “Mike has proven that he is more than capable to uphold the quality of Ali Baba service and Mediterranean cuisine that the Morgantown community knows and loves”.

Mike and his family are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the existing Ali Baba menu and the genuine hospitality offered to guests. The entire current kitchen staff will remain at Ali Baba Restaurant and Mike will work side-by-side the experienced staff to prepare all the traditional Ali Baba favorites – from the delightful gyro platter to the succulent shishkebabs.

Featured, weekend specials, created by Mike, will be the only slight addition to the menu, which is sure to add fun and flavor for those who are willing to try something new. 

Mike is an experienced chef with impressive culinary credentials, having graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America. Mike is originally from Brick, New Jersey and his wife Dźeneta, from Lithuania. The Rothenback family has lived in Morgantown for the past five years, and has a deep love for West Virginia and the Morgantown community.
